I thought it was just a bittersweet novel and took it as such. Maybe I wasn't disappointed because I wasn't expecting anything profound.

I thought Sebold did a good job of writing simply and charmingly, like the young girl she was trying to portray.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16941846553980567347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8582606361798910883.post-66554609305048108962010-11-26T02:32:46.004-08:002010-11-26T02:32:46.004-08:00I didn't enjoy the film a lot because I felt t...I didn't enjoy the film a lot because I felt the climax wasn't giving very good closure. However I really enjoyed the book (which I read after). By that time I had learned that the book is not about finding justice and closure for Susie's murder, but simply snapshots about how her family move on and cope from her disappearance. Once I realised the book was not about what I thought it was about, it was a lot more enjoyable.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8582606361798910883.post-14127226138470843832010-09-08T09:36:28.342-07:002010-09-08T09:36:28.342-07:00annmarie . . . I think I misunderstood the book because I heard the actress that plays Susie say that it is really an uplifting/inspiring story.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05913957404632673057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8582606361798910883.post-91541716161132875452010-09-08T06:02:43.402-07:002010-09-08T06:02:43.402-07:00ok i have watched the film and that was very depre...ok i have watched the film and that was very depressing at times it sounds like the book is the same as the film. really like your honest review :)Deadlykittenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01476847159063211339noreply@blogger.com
